panning desktop

Hi,

I need an app that enlarge Windows XP's desktop. For example, to use a
1600x1200 desktop on a 800x600 resolution (with a panning effect).

I think that fvwm (X Windows) had something like that.

I look for any software, not only freeware, I haven't found nothing at
all...

I think it depends to the Gfx-Card, and the drivers.
I think that fvwm (X Windows) had something like that.

X-Window (X11 formerly - by the way, is 'X11' still the codename for
X-Window?)

Matrox GfX-Cards can do so. The mighty AMIGA can do. etc.
