So I got this obligatory freeware Pando that will allow e-mail attachments
up to 1 GB to be sent/received in pando packages. My Windows Firewall &
Norton AV 2005 had restrictions in mind and now whenever I open IE7, Norton
asks me to permit or block the activity directed from the internet towards
pando.exe...but if I select permit, it isn't remembered the next time,
because no local program is causing the activity, it is "home" phoning "me".
The pop-up error message from Norton is too much of a bother for the other
users of this computer, but I don't want to rid myself of pando. Pando
doesn't start when Windows starts currently, and that checkbox being
unchecked was of little help.

Not many people have a problem with pando, so why me?

I never heard of Pando. Why is it obligatory? What "checkbox being
unchecked"? Hard to say why you. Have you asked their tech support?

Hello,

Pando also installs as an add-on to IE7 so that you can send large
attachments with web mail.

To disable pando integration with IE7, try using the program's configuration
utility to disable integration with IE7.

Another method is to create a Rule in Norton Firewall to Allow All access
to/from panda.exe.

Finally, you can manually remove the add-on in IE7 by going to IE7 > Tools >
Manage-add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons > CInterceptor Object > Disable.
This is if you only use Outlook/Outlook Express for your mails.

Thank you very much. I followed the last paragraph and that seems to have
killed the NAV trojan message that was popping up on each opening of the IE7
browser (it was adding an extra 10 seconds to open the browser and find the
Google home page when the NAV message popped up). I'm not ready to use
Pando, but if I do, I'll have to enable and disable this particular
CInterceptor Object in order to get Pando to work intermittently. The reason
Pando is obligatory is because the Zilla Audio extractor & converter
programs are free only if I download Pando too; if I don't install Pando,
the audio extraction programs are too hobbled for my purpose.
