Was wondering if anyone has information on Panda's various antivirus programs. I'm in the process of needing a new AV as my current subscription to McAfee expires. I was led to Panda by Staples, as they provide Staples label AV program... It sounds and looks good, but I'm interested in views from the group.

Thank you all for any information and for your time.

I don't use it myself, but several of my smaller clients use it, and it's
seemed quite good.

While I've not seen any machines running it that were compromised, I've
also removed it from every machine we've found it on - if you thought
Norton was resource hungry, wait till you use Panda.

Hi Leythos
I have seen mentioned before re something being 'resource hungry'.
How is this quantified and in what aspect of its usage.
Thanks

Systems take a long time to login, apps take a long time to start/run,
systems take a long time to logout, etc... Removing PAV causes the
systems to run fast, logon quickly, apps to load and run quickly, etc...

We replaced PAV with Symantec Corp 10.0 for workstations and servers
(now 10.1) and noticed a dramatic increase in performance, people
actually thought they were given new workstations.

Thank you for that info, Leythos

Just so you know, we had about a dozen machines running PAV that took
more than 30 minutes to uninstall PAV from and 4 that we had to hack the
registry to get it removed. It was almost like removing NAV2006 :)
