Hello all,
Is anyone familiar with "Paltalk 8.1" problems when trying to
uninstalll it ?
It now refuses to uninstall itself completly. Although, I was able to
unsinstall it completly several times, with no complaints from the OS.
Synopsis of problem:
1. It(paltalk software) works fine for a while.
2. Then one day it prompts me for an online update, and I click ok.
Every thing is fine for that day.
3. Next day, it again prompts me for the online update (as if it did
not register the online update that was previously executed), and I
again click ok.
4. This sequence of events goes on for several days.
5. Then one day (about 1 week later), the online update crashes mid-way
through. At this point, I uninstall paltalk. I re-install paltalk. This
seems to resolve the problem.
6. The whole sequence of events (1 to 5) repeats itself until one
fateful day, the uninstall of paltalk cannot be executed completly. At
this point I can neither reinstall paltalk over the existing partial
paltalk components or unsinstall the partial paltalk components.
7. The only thing that I can find that clears the problem is a system
restore. Unfortunatly, steps 1 trough 6 are now repeating themselves at
roughly a period of 3 days. It is really annoying.
Did anyone else experience anything similar?
Does anyone have an inkling to why paltalk is behaving like this?
Especially, why does it refuse to uninstall itself ?
P.S I am running Win XP
Please advise
-Roger
