Palm Desktop default folder location in Windows Registry

My apologies for posting this question here, but I am desperate!! I tried
Palm website to no avail.

I am trying to share a network folder for a user with a single Palm Pilot
and multiple PC's. I want her to have a network drive to store her Palm data
and access the same data from any PC without having to Hot Synch. I had it
working fine but for some reason it is not working now. Palm is asking for a
user when we launch the application.

The way I did was to go to Windows Registry where Palm stores its default
data directory and give the location there, instead of within the Palm
Desktop application. If I try it from within the application it keeps
telling me that the folder is in use by another user. I just don't recall
where the location in Windows Reguistry is.

Does somebody know?

Thanks,
Eduardo

That's OK. I did something like this for a client so she could access
her Palm calendar from any of the computers in her home. Here's the
link to how to do it:

http://www.palm.crevier.org/faq/

I used Scott Crevier's free implementation (which he describes at that
link) instead of third-party software because I was only dealing with
one user. It worked very well for her. It is probably exactly what you
did before, too.

YES!!! That was it. That did it.

This time I'll be a little more diligent when making and documenting changes
to the registry.

I'm glad that was the answer (thought so). As for documenting changes,
if I didn't keep notes and print stuff out I'd be lost. There's way too
much to remember, so don't feel bad. Been there, done that, got the
T-shirt. ;-)

Cheers,

Malke
