I just downloaded the trail version and it had a help dialog that showed on the right side of the screen but I guess I hit something and it disappeared, how do I get it back?

If you are talking about the Learning Center then you can hit the F10 key.
Another method is to go to Views > Palettes and click on Learning Center.
You can get a lot of help on the Jasc Forums.
