paging file

Every time I start my computer I get a message that there is no paging file
or the file is too small. When I go into system in the control panel and set
the paging file to system managed it tells me to then restart the computer
for the changes to take effect. This does not work, I still get the message.
Can anyone tell me where exactly to find the paging file? Is it possible
that there is no paging file? Is it also possible to create a new one if so?

I click set and than the prompt comes up "these changes require you to
restart your computer" and then I restart. When I do restart the screen stays
dark for about 3 minutes until the sign on pops up.

Are you using Symantec or Norton Antivirus? This can cause problems setting
the page file if you opt for auto-connect to load at the same time as
Windows.

How much free space do you have left on C: ?
