can't find pagefile to correct error message" no paging file or file is too
small". Went through the system icon and set the paging file under the
advanced tab. It prompted me to restart computer to make changes take effect.
After restart same message appeared. Is pagefile.sys in a folder somewhere?

It's possible that there's just not enough unused space on your disk
drive for SP to create a large-enough paging file.

You say you "set the paging file", but exactly what settings did you
make? How much unused space is there on the drive where the paging
file resides (probably C:)?

How much free space do you have on your hard drive. You want at least 10
gigs free for XP at all times

Another drastic overstatement. If what you say were true, my
wife, with a total hard drive of 10GB, wouldn't be able to run XP
at all. In fact she does run it, and with no problems at all.

Article ID 315270 did not work for me

On the Intel site I checked my chipset using their utility, down loaded the
appropriate "Application Accelerator" and installed it.

This cleared up the problem.

SP2 and xp repair started my little anventure into this realm.
