PAGINATION ON NOTES PAGE

I have a document that has 30 pages, one slide per page. I'm trying to
print it in Notes view. Curiously, there are page numbers (lower right) on
only a few of the notes pages (the slide numbers in the slide images are
fine). How does one control the page numbers on the Notes pages?
