pagefile.sys and restore point

I have a pagefile.sys file on my root directory that is
768MB. Each time my computer creates a restore point, it
makes a copy of the pagefile.sys file and stores it in an
RP subfolder in the System Volume Information folder. This
quickly eats up the hard drive. What is happening and what
can I do?

Restore points do not include the page file, nor would it make sense to do
so.

A 768 mb minimum page file setting is grossly excessive for most
users.

I suggest that you try reducing the minimum setting to something in
the 150 mb range but leave the maximum at 768 mb or whatever it
currently is.

See MVP Alex Nichol's article on virtual memory management at

advice.

Good luck
