pagefile questions

Hi. I am running winxp pro, and I have a 120GB HD.
It is divided into the following partitions: drive c=fat32,
(also contains system info.), drive G (drive image) also
fat32, and drive D, ntfs. While running disc defrag, I
noticed that the G drive had fragmented in the pagefile
system.
I foolishly went to get help from my computer tech
support, but got the blow off. I need to know how I should
set the min/max virtual memory, and windows help said #1
not to have a pagefile on each partition, especially the c
drive, and if that is not the case do I allocate virtual
memory to my G drive, my systems drive image. thank you
for any input. mike.

They usually recommend to have the Pagefile on a separate drive or partition.

It is a good idea to delete this pagefile every so often. It will REALLY speed up your
computer shut-down.

If you can see the pagefile.sys, it means you have the hide the system file option turned
off (and U need to turn it off to see the file to delete it).

Go to the CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM and then the ADVANCED Tab and then the PERFORMANCE and turn
off the Pagefile. Re-boot and check it is gone, if not you will have to start in SAFE Mode
and delete from there.

You could defrag the drive/partition now there is no Pagefile.sys on there.

Then go back and make a new pagefile, either let Windows manage it or make your own. If you
run a few high end games then a minimum of 100 Mb and say a Max of 1500 Mb (U didn't say how
much Memory U have?)
