PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON PAGED AREA

Ray

I use MS .com updates
Never had any problems downloading & installing any
updates - until this
one,

MS detected update to my NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 200 display
driver
(I have a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 200 -pretty sure)
The update was not compatible with this when I checked,
but it was with
The NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400, so I loaded & installed it
anyway.
On re-boot - I got a (blue w/white letters) Stop page, not
letting windows
load stating:
*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xED0A9912, 0x00000000, 0xED086051,
0x00000000 )
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON PAGED AREA
If this is first time you have seen this message screen,
restart computer.
If screen appears again follow these steps:
check newly installed hardware & software is installed
properly
check for updates disable or remove newly installed
software or hardware
disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing
use safe mode to disable or uninstall hardware or software

The only way to get going again was to hard boot to get
out of
The blue stop page screen, start in safe mode, uninstall
all the NVIDIA
drivers, then re-boot, in normal mode & windows detecting
no driver, have to use
hardware wizard to searches the MS updates site & finds
only the NVIDIA
GeForce2 MX 400 - allowed me to install the NVIDIA
GeForce2 MX 400, change
my display settings - & get running in normal mode.

The problem is that I cannot re-boot without doing all
this.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. I tried loading the
NVIDIA
GeForce2 MX 200 driver from a disc. That does not fix the
problem

Can I re-install my Win 2000 pro or the lasest service
pack?

Ray ...

First thing to try ... go to http://www.nvidia.com and download the most
recent version of the driver from their site.

This should resolve the issue.

Hope this helps.
