Vista and NVidia Tri-monitor setup

Had Windows XP Pro SP2 working like a champ and decided to take the plunge
into Vista. Problems with video drivers however. Here is what I have:

HP DC7100 Workstation
- NVidia Quadro NVS 55/280 PCI
- NVidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400

The Quadro is the primary video card and it loads up fine. Dual monitor
support. However, the third monitor will not load. When I look at the
properties in the device manager, I see the following:

Windows has stopped this device because it has report problems (Code 43).
Click Check for Solutions to send data about this device to Microsoft and to
see if there is a solution available.

No online solution. When I try to install the drivers from NVidia, I get an
error that says no hardware is found that matches the drivers. Looking at
the compatibility list, doesn't look like NVidia is going to support these
video cards with drivers and install use the MS drivers.

Suggestions on how to get the third monitor to load?

Yep, been there. The driver simply will not apply to the second video card.
It only seems to be a problem with both of them together. If I remove the
Quadro, the other card loads fine.

Had a similar combo:
FX5200 (AGP)
GF2 MX400 (PCI)
No end of troubles under RC1 (had it working with old NV driver, then
a update broke it). I finally had to remove the card because of Blue
Screen errors.
According to NV, GF2 is NOT supported in Vista. :-(

Hi,

Yes, similar problem with ATI FireMV 2400 PCIe card... it has 4 outputs
(windows sees it as 2 display adapters), but the second adapter shows a code
43, and refuses to recognise monitor 3.

Have downloaded the vista 32bit drivers from ATI website, but still no
joy... It's a known problem apparently!... GR8 !

Chris.

From what I've read, Vista needs to use the same driver for all display
adapters in order to work (the WDM driver has to be compatabile with both
display adapters). I have the same blue screen and code 43 problem right now
mysef. I have an onboard ATI adapter and an NVidia PCIE adapter running three
monitors....one will work or the other will work, but not both. I did a
little research and I'm going to replace my NVidia PCIE with an ATI PCIE
(according to ATI my onboard and my new PCIE will both use the same driver. I
think this will solve the problem.....if not I'll be out a chunk of money!!!
