Page numbers on Notes page and Notes master

It appears that Microsoft has changed the rules for PPT 2003 and 2007. Used
to be page numbers could be changed only at the Master level (unless you
added a text box) But NOW even if you in put page numbers on the master slide
you MUST do the same thing for the Notes (or whatever) slide. You also have
to searc for the header/footer icon. Anyone have a workaround for this? Yes
- I have XP Yes it is Office 2007 yes i am saving the version in 2003. But
none the less, this is a 2007 BUG

Kind of but not really the entire problem. In PPT2003 when you select Notes
Notes Master you could insert <page number> of <total pages> in the lower
right corner of the notes master. When you close Notes Master page number X
of XX would show up. In PPT2007 doing the SAME procedure changes nothing. If
you open the Notes master, and change page x of xx and close it, the Notes
page still shows the previous information. e.g. Notes page says Chapter 1 Pg
x of 105 so I open Notes page > select Notes master> change the wording to
Chapter 4 Pg. x of 10. I then close Notes Master but the Notes page still
reatins the OLD information. Nothing changes. Only way around this is to
individually change each page number. any thoughts. I can send you the file
if you wish to take a peek Much Thanks
