Page Numbers Not Printing

I have inserted page numbers (bottom/center) in an appendix (Word 2000).
Although I can see the numbers at the bottom of each page, they do not print
out on the final copy.

A potential problem may be that I have numerous frames on certain pages with
pictures embedded. Although the frames do not overlap the viewing of the
page numbers themselves, some of the frame borders do impinge on the footer
borders.

Before attempting to re-position all of the frames and text, is the
situation I described a potential conflict. I have been assuming that if
the frame borders do not block out the page numbers, the page numbers should
print. Maybe not?

You hit it right on the head. I have a laser and an ink jet (for color)
hooked up to the same computer. The page numbers print on the laser, but
not on the ink jet. By raising the top margin of the footer, I am able to
get around the issue for the ink jet.
