Page Numbering

Yes it is me again. Another user has a document which has
a couple of section breaks where she wants the pages to
be landscape. When she inserts page number, in the
section break where it is landscaped, the numbering
starts over at page number 1, even though the footer
states same as previous.

We can get around this by opening the incorrect footer
and select format page number from the header/footer
toolbar and select continue from previous section. We
then have to do this at the next section where it goes
back to portrait.

She is using Word XP on Windows XP system.

Any suggestions. Works fine on my computer?

Gladys,

I suspect your other user has "Start at 1" set in the
format page number dialog box of the thier document
template. Open the document template and choose the
setting you want as the default and then save the template.

But why would it start renumbering itself. Shouldn't it
continue from the previous section?

If you apply "Start at 1" to one section, it carries over to any additional
sections you may then create, and each section will start at 1.
