page numbering

I have a large document that is a tech manual. Some of the sections have
been revised and I need to insert them into the document but not change the
original page numbering. Example say it is chapter 20 and it is on page 19
and the next chapter (20) begins on page 24 in the original document but
with the new revisions it has added say 5 pages to chapter 20, I want to make
the extra pages say 23a, 23b, etc. so it does not change the original
starting page of chapter 20. Do you know how I can do this?

By inserting sections breaks and then change your page number systems on the
sections.

I do have section breaks but I need to know how to insert revised pages in
one section with numbers plus an A or b with it and still not change the
numbering system for the rest of the document.
