Page numbering - X of Y

This is my first post, so I hope I'm submitting this question in the right
place. I apologize in advance if my problem has been addressed a gazillion
times.

Here's my problem in Windows XP:

The issue occurs when I try to insert automatic page numbering into a header
in a Word document. On the screen and in print preview the layout looks
fine, i.e. Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3, Page 3 of 3 in a 3-page document.
However, when I print the document the numbering appears Page 1 of 1, Page 2
of 2, Page 3 of 3 on the hard copy of the same 3-page document.

I had this problem before and installed a hotfix, which solved the problem.
I opened a WP document in Word last week, however, and the problem started
all over again.

Can anyone help with this, please? Thanks so much!

Sorry, wrong place. I recommend a Word newsgroup, or an
MS Office group. This one looks at Windows XP issues.

Katie this is a Word application issue not an XP issue. Best to post in
a Word newsgroup. Here is a list of all MS public newsgroups:

Good luck.
