Page number higher than number of pages

When numbering odd/even pages in one section, I end with "Page 7 of 9".
There are only 7 pages. The front page (only one) is not numbered at all.
Thanks in advance for help!

The first page is counted whether it has a number on it or not, and even if
you have restarted numbering later.

Does this mean that, after an odd section break (separating the first page,
which is not numbered, from the rest of the document (section 2), I cannot
number only section 2? How would a TOC look beginning on page 2?

If you have just one section after the break, you can use the SectionPages
field instead of NumPages.

I set up my document using "Page Setup". I don't know how to use
SectionPages or NumPages field. If you have time to provide me some
instruction, or reference to an instruction that is easy to follow, I'd
really appreciate it.

Press Alt+F9 to display field codes. You'll see the NumPages field for the Y
in Page X of Y. Change it to SectionPages. Alt+F9 again and F9 to update the
field.
