Since switching to broadband and cancelling my dial up
connection I am unable to use IE. To try and solve the
problem I downloaded IE6 but still have the same problem.
My Netscape browser works fine.
I've tried a lot of the suggestion from the Page Not Found
FAQs but nothing seems to work.
The basics of my system are:
Win 2000 Professional
512 mb
1ghz processor.
Does anybody have any ideas, please?

Please expand on "I am unable to use IE."
First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.
What I meant to say was that when I try to open IE it takes
forever and then comes up with the Page Not Found page.
Have so far tried some of the sites suggested, but as I
can't get there through IE, a lot can't run any checks.
