I'm trying to acces my bank details on a new computer running XP. After
typing in passwords etc I reach te page where the details should be and it's
blank, with a red cross in a small white box top left. Other bank and
password protected sites seem OK..
The site's OK. I can access it on my old ME machine. can't find any
obvious settings to alter to cure tis. Anyone know?

TIA

Re this post, I've compared the versions of IE6 on the XP and ME machines
and see that the XP version is later and specifically 'XP'd'. In addition
in tools - internet options - advanced, there is no Microsoft VM entries in
the XP version unlike that on the ME machine. This is the only difference
in th esettings that I can spot. But surely the XP IE6 isn't going to
restrict accesss to pages I need to look at? Do other browsers have these
limitations?

Hi,
It does sound like a JavaScript, JRE, MSJVM problem.

The Java plugin from Sun should work as well as MS JVM. See these sites for
additional information:

Download from Sun http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Other possibilities:

Yep,

Needed Java sure enough. The only remaining question is why oh why should
Bill's latest and greatest omit so obvious a feature - a bit like my new
Toyota which, although a supposedly superior version, lacks some features
found in more basic versions of cheaper models first brought out ten years
ago. I'll never understand 'Progress'.
