Page Locking

I am using Access 97 and Access 2000. According to some articles, for page
locking, the page size is 2K but some mentions that it is 4K.

Although it is not important for my case, I would like to know does the page
size has been changed ? Is it due to the storage of the Unicode ?

Besides, if we only grant Read Only access right for users to an Access
Database on the network, we would like to know what is the consequence ? We
find that when one of them open the database, others cannot open it.

Access 97 and earlier have a 2K page. Access 2000 and later a 4K page.
Unicode is the reason.

If you want read-only rights without locking the file, you cannot use the
file system, you must user User-level security. Have a look at the Security
