page goes past the end of the ruler

My page extends past the end of the ruler on the right hand side. This means
there is lot of white space on the right and it prints like this also. My
margin and page setting are:

A4, 21cm wide and 27.9cm tall.
left margin 3.5cm
Right, bottom and top margin 2.5cm

Any thoughts what might be wrong?

If this is Word 2002 or 2003, are you tracking changes, or does the document
contain comments? If so, and if you have balloons enabled (Tools | Options |
Track Changes), Word is allowing space for them.
