Page File Size

Good Day,
I'm trying to change my page file size in XP Home, 640 Mb
RAM (256-256-128), 20Gb HD, To reduce the size.

I would like to set the initial size to 1/2 my RAM (320)
and max to 1x (640). I can set the page file to 0 - no
page file and I can set it to system managed 960 (958
recommended).
When I set the custom size, after reboot of course, I
get back to the 959Mb page file even though the settings
still indicate a custom size of 320-640.
This occurs with several combinations s/a 320-1280, 320-
1920,etc. Always reverting back to 959Mb pagefile.

I've read through both these articles:

http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm

http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/expertzone/columns/mcfed
ries/03june16.asp

Any suggestions here would be most appreciated.
TIA,
John

.
I figured this out thank you, apparently the 960 Mb is the
total paging file consisting of 640 ram and 320 vm.
