past versions of word had a box at the bottom: "X of Y pages". I can't find this on Word 2003. Anyone know how to get it back?

J,

Looking at the Word 2000 screen now there is no box
containing X of Y pages. If you mean the document status
bar (Tools>Options>View>Show>Status Bar), it will show the
current page, section and page of page as X/Y

If you want Page X of Y Pages to appear in your document,
then insert the following fields and text. Field code
brackets { } are entered with CTRL+F9

{ Page } of { NumPages } pages

I think Greg has covered the aspects of your question as it may deal with
the status bar. If you're wanting to insert Page X of Y into a document, you
can use the "Page X of Y" AutoText entry. This is available from the
AutoText menu on the Header and Footer toolbar when you're in the header or
footer pane or from the Insert | AutoText | Header/Footer menu when you're
in the body of the document.
