page cannot be displayed

Within the last week or so, many favorites and links
from within sites come back with page cannot be
displayed. Even when I click on search. Sometimes
refresh works, other time detect network settings work,
sometimes back and forward.
The frustrating part is that it's not all the time.
I'm running XP home and ie 6.0

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Ran Ad-Aware, spybot and cwshredder (said I was clean). Ran hijack this and posted to the forum. I do remember now one thing I 'removed' a few weeks ago. I kept getting this annoying IGN keywords page whenever I typed a bad URL. I downloaded the IGN keywords uninstaller and ran it. Could this still be causing the problem. Some IGN 'things' were found with ad-aware and deleted but I still have the problem. In fact I had to hit reply 6 times before I got this sreen!

If you updated Ad-Aware before scanning, I think it would have gotten
anything left from IGetNet.. See
