page cannot be displayed...

I am having problems with getting the "Page cannot be
displayed" dialogue. I am using Internet Explorer 6 and I
have Windows XP and have downloaded all my updates. Its
not on all websites...Only on certain ones. I use
Earthlink dial-up for my internet connection. I have
called them and verified that it is not the internet
connection or the websites problem. Other people I have
talked to can go to the same website just fine. I
actually have an older computer set up in the house with
windows 98 and internet explorer 5 on it. I connected to
the internet with it and can go to the websites as well
using the same internet connection and phone line. Can
anyone help me???? Its getting rather annoying. Another
thing I have noticed is that some pages will partially
load and will have Action cancelled on parts of it.

HOSTS file problem?
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be
hidden) rename it OLDHOSTS, reboot.

If you did not create that file then you may have some
parasites.

Remove all the parasites on your computer.
Delete all the spywares and bad BHOs from your system.
