"Page cannot be displayed" IE 6 SP2

I have been unable to open any wesite on IE preinstalled with Windowns XP2
SP2 since the last 10 days. The problems probably appeared after I installed
MSN search. I have unistalled MSN search and did System Restore twice but the
problem persists. Some sort of DNS error appears at the bottom of IE window
but that disappears rapidly so that I cannot note it down. I am using
Firefox that is working fine. Any kind of input will be appreciated.
