Package to cd

Hello again. I`ve got an irritating problem with powerpoint 2003. I'm
using the Package to CD function to copy a presentation to cd ...and
about 90% of the time it fails on me. Progress bar comes up, cd drive
makes all the right noises etc. Copy progress bar reaches end then up
comes " The files cannot be copied, try another cd"
This is a friends system, and the cd device seems to work perfectly
with everything else.
I'm not a complete idiot, really, I'm considering uing a different
brand of cd (these are Verbatim, so not rubbish) the drive is a
Phiilps DVD +RW 200 . His operating system is XP.
I love to solve problems on my own but hey, this is getting
expensive. Anybody want a beer-mat? ; )

Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

I can't offer a solution to the failures, but it sounds like you are trying
to make multiple copies of the same presentation? Even if that isn't the
case, a very viable work around would be to use the Package to Folder
function and then use the CD burning software that came with the drive to
actually burn the CD. If the media is not the problem, your CD(s) will be
fine. If there is a problem with the media, the CD burning software should
also detect it and give a similar error and you'll know that it wasn't a
problem with PowerPoint.
