Pack and Go

I have PPT 2002, and tried to prepare a presentation with the Pack
and Go feature. One dialog box in the wizard pertains to the PPT
viewer. There were two choices: "Don't include Viewer," which was
checked; and "Viewer for Microsoft Windows," which was grayed out
and could not be selected. There was also a box to click to
download the Viewer.

After clicking the box and seeing which Viewer it would have
downloaded, I instead downloaded and installed the 2003 version of
the Viewer, which works with more features of more versions of PPT.

The problem is that, even after downloading and installing it, the
dialog box did not seem to recognize it. I had even quit and
restarted PPT.

Why? What's the solution?

Pack and Go was designed to use the PowerPoint 97 Viewer and will not be
updated to include the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer. You can download and install
the PowerPoint 97 Viewer
(http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Ppview97.aspx) and use Pack and
Go, or upgrade to PowerPoint 2003 which eliminates Pack and Go and
introduces "Package for CD" using the new viewer. If you want to create and
autorun CD that uses the new Viewer, see
