Could someone confirm that the drivers disk is a CD with a green
background and entitled VIA KT400 Motherboard Utility CD (ver. 1.1).

There is no way of knowing from info on the disk whether it is for
this mobo or another.

My problem is that the audio facility will not detect a sound on the
mike. I have another PC with the same set up where the mike works
perfectly.

It is an Asrock board. The box contents are shown here.

All the drivers you could ever need are here. Hope you
are patient, as this server is dreadfully slow (7KB/sec).

This is a very good response. It correctly identifies the mobo.
However, the CD that I have supposed is the one with the drivers is
nothing like the only one with the orange stripe shown in the web
page. I shall have to look harder and longer for the right CD.

Many thanks for this info.
