P4P800 dX boot problems with hdd on raid connector

Hi,
Following the advice of this group, I have connected my Maxtor 120gb ata133
hdd to the primary eide connector as I understand this will give me ata133
whereas the normal ide connectors will only go to ata100. I have enabled the
raid controller in the bios, but when I boot, I get to the raid screen which
shows the hdd as primary master then it boots into XP Pro - but I get a blue
fatal error screen, telling me to check drives/controllers, run fdisk /f
then reboot. It will boot fine when I swap the cables over to the ide port.

Can anyone tell me if I've done something stupid with this setup

Do you have the Windows drivers for the RAID controller installed?
