P4P800- DLX Best CPU for Overclock?

Hi All,

Made an unexpected purchase of a P4P800 Deluxe the deal was to good to
pass by so bought it. (That is what I get for going to a computer show).
I'm planning on overclocking and was going to use a 2.4G/800 since I
know they usually run well at 3G. However, noticed Intel just dropped
their prices and I can now get a 2.6G for about $5 more than I was
planning on spending for the 2.4G.

Question ... is the 2.6G/800 a good overclocker as well? I'm planning on
a target FSB of 250 and running the memory at 5/4 to keep the memory in
spec at around 200.

Anybody running their 2.6G/800 on a P4P800 Deluxe with a FSB=250 or better?

Thanks in advance,

John

Well, I run my 2.4C @ 270 FSB with no issues (stock voltage and HSF.) If
your target is only 250, the 2.6 would be at 3.25GHz, which seems like a
good bet to me. Why not get some DDR500 ram and run at 1:1 for best
performance?

Which settings?

FSB=270
MEM=320 (=5/4 ratio)
AGP/PCI = Locked at 66/33
CPU Voltage = Default
DDR Voltage = Default
AGP Voltage = Default
PAT = Enabled
Turbo = Standard

I use dual Mushkin Level 2 DDR 256MB x 2, at DDR433, based on the 5/4
divider above.

This is on my P4C800-E Dlx, but the P4P800 should yield the same results.
