Replacement for P4P800 DLX

Thank you in advance. I bought an Asus P4P800 DLX about a year ago. I
had a P4 2.4c processor. It was overclocked to 3.4 running just fine.
Then one day my computer shut off. After looking into it, I noticed the
North Bridge burned up. Anyway, I am thing of getting a Asus A8V with
an AMD 64 3000+ (939). Would this be a step in the right direction or
should I just buy another P4P800? The P4 still works, just the
motherboard is bad. If I do decide to go AMD do I need to buy new ram.
I currently have PC3200?

Thanks Again,
Kent

I would recommend to get a new P4P800. I have built three computers with
them and they are rock solid except one which has a WindowsMe as a
second OS, but I think the instability here is with the OS not the mob.
In the beginning there were some problems with long boot times, but in
the latest bioses this seems to be fixed, or maybe I have learned the
correct settings?
