P4 system problem from hell, follow-up

First and foremost, thanks to everyone who responded. I sincerely
appreciate your help.

Sadly, the system still doesn't work. Since my initial post I've
bought a new Anitec case and installed the mobo and psu (but no
drives) into it. I've also multimetered numerous outlets in my
house, and found no problems. I changed power cords, outlets
(numerous times), and the case, with no change in the symptoms.

I've been using desktop computers since before IBM introduced
the PC, and I have NEVER seen anything like this.

Barring a sudden breakthrough, I'll likely buy a new system
(which I desperately need for my woodworking business) and leave
this one in a closet until I have the time, energy, and patience
to fix it. I expect that will happen sometime around March.
Of 2012.

Which reminds me--as a token of thanks to those who have
offered suggestions, I'll give anyone who posted a 20% discount
on any one jewelry or keepsake box listed in the inventory
section of my web site, www.grinzo.com.

power up the mb out of the case with the new PSU, if nothing happens
you might as well get over using it, as its dead.
