P4 3.2 TEMPS?

I am wondering what I should be seeing for temps on my 3.2 p4.

Not overclocked,ThermalTake Spark7+ heatsink (with fan at 4000
rpm),and Nanotherm paste.I am getting about 43c at idle. That to me
seems hot.I have not yet done a full load test.

Sounds about right.

Expect roughly 37-45 at idle depends on HSF, and 55-60 under full load again
depending on HSF.

IIRC, the 3.2 is actually rated for up to 90c max by Intel.

I have mine showing at 30c for the 3.2 processor and 28c for the chipset on
ASUS P4C800E Delux. I have stock thermal pad/heatsink/fan combo provided in
retail processor box. No overclock, but my consider a 5% OC just to see
how it handles the heat. My CPU fan is kicking along at roughly 2800
rpm.... Powersupply fan around 1500 (but sporadic reading, think data stream
on that one is not all that good).

Much depends on the ambient -- the processor will never be cooler (using
normal air cooling technology) than the surrounding air inside the case. And
the inside temperature will never be cooler than the surrounding room. My
smallest system is running 24 X 7 running Oxford's climate prediction
project which pretty much maxes out the processor. The CPU runs at 54-58
under those conditions with an inside-case temp of 44. When the system is
idle the processor drops to 42-48 with an inside-case temp of ~40. I
wouldn't worry about any P4 CPU temp under 65 under full-load conditions.

thanks for the replies guys.

The room is 70f (constant) and inside case temp is 80f.

I am just used to my P3 1.8 GHZ running 100f at idle.I am new to the
3+ghz rigs with HT.I guess it's the nature of the beast.

and depending from how the MoBo reads temps; if the readings would be
from its onDie diode, the correspondent temps would show approx.10°C
more ...
