P2P network not working between W2K and XPP and XPH

Hi,

I have the following computers config ..

1) W2k Pro SP2
2) XPP SP1
3) XPH SP1

map drive from XPP to W2kPro - OK (no need to type username/password)
map drive from XPH to W2kPro - OK (no need to type username/password)
map drive from W2kPro to XPP - Not OK (Keep asking for username/password)
map drive from W2kPro to XPH - Not OK (Keep asking for username/password)
map drive from XPH to XPP - Not OK (Guest account appear and asking for
password)
map drive from XPP to XPH - Not OK (Guest account appear and asking for
password)

All 3 PCs are in the same IP subnet (All pings works)
No firewall installed on any of the PCs
All 3 PCs logon using the same username and password and they are in the
same workgroup.
I am sure the username/password I used to connect the map driver are
correct,
All attempts failed from W2kPro no matter which username and password I
tried ...
Didn't change and also checked Local Policy Settings ... looks fine to me
.....

all PCs has
1) client for microsoft network
2) file and print sharing
3) netbios over TCP/IP
enabled

I used to have no problem when networking all the PCs under W2k OS ....
anyone got any idea ?
Thanks a lot

Steven.

This could be a time sync thing. W2K3 (and probably XP) require that
that the packets from clients have a reasonably current timestamp.

also, are you using share level security?

Hi,

I have fixed the problem
here is what I have done to fix it.

In the XPP
I have turned off the "Simple file sharing" under "Folder Options"

In the XPH
It fixed by creating the first share folder and ran thru the file sharing
wizard.
