Owner vs Administrator

I'm still having the same problem. I can't download any programs as Owner
because I'm not the administrator. In the past, I have always been able to
download or change anything I wanted as Owner. How do I get this privilege
back as owner. When I try and log on as Administrator, it does not recognize
my passport password. I don't think this will matter though, because all my
setting are under the Owner setting. This all happened after I downloaded
SP2. If I take that off, will my computer go back to the way it was?

Yay, a question I can answer!

Ok.

In Windows Setup, Administrator account is set up automatically; it's there
"just in case". Owner is the default account Windows makes for you; you need
an account for Windows to recognize you, right?

So here's the trick.

Windows sets NO password for the Administrator account until you set it. Log
on to administrator and go to User Accounts in control panel. Click on Change
an Account and click Owner. Click "change my account type", click Computer
Administrator, and then finally hit "Change Account Type"

Ta-da! You have administrator privs!

Owner is not a default account. There is no owner account in windows. The person who installed the OS choose Owner as is common in preinstalled OSs. It is just an account of whatever type named owner.

I can't log on as administrator. When the desktop comes up there is a guest
icon. I hit control-alt-delete and a new window appears and I type in
administrator and it wants a password. I have typed in every password i use
and it won't come up under administrator. This is driving me crazy!

Boot up into SafeMode (F8 on startup) and login as Administrator (leave the
password field blank and hit Enter).
