Owner Account--what is it for?

Hi,
What is the purpose of the "Owner" account that is found in C:\Documents and
Settings? Is it really needed? Should it be deleted?
 
It most likely was created at the OEM when they installed xp on your
computer. If you have created a user for yourself andf you don't use the
owner account then go ahead and delete it. Delete it from control panel,
user accounts, not from windows explorer.
