overriding wia and using twain drivers...

I've followed the directions in the Microsoft Support database for using
twain drivers for a scanner but the do not seem to work. I can remove the
WIA drivers for the scanner but XP refuses to recognize the twain drivers
(and they are the latest twain drivers provided by the manufacturer
specifically for XP). Has anyone else had any success using twain drivers
over the WIA one's and if so can you tell me how you did it?

You might try disabling WIA in services? I use my scanners drivers over
microsofts with WIA disabled. Might try disabling WIA. Then manually
scanning with your scanners software if you can. You can always turn it back
on. Start, run, type services.msc, scroll to windows image acquisition,
select, right click, properties, startup type, disable, reboot. Then try and
manually scanning with your software.

Thanks for the tip... I'll give it a shot! My main problem in the past has
been trying to get XP to recognize and install the twain drivers and
software. Maybe if WIA is disabled I'll have better luck.
