Overclocking P4P800 automatically disables PAT :(

Even when I've enabled it, overclocking the FSB automatically turns off PAT,
no matter the ram settings or other optimsation settings.

PAT makes a huge difference in memory throughput, but now I'm stuck at my
factory speed if I want to use it.

Anybody have a workaround?

How do you know it turns it off?

If you can't control it via the BIOS, you likely won't be able to enable it
at all. It's not unusual for ASUS to do this - in the old P55/T2P4, it
would ignore the BIOS settings and slow down the ram timing when
overclocking. On the P3B-F ram timing was slowed down as soon as
overclocking exceeded 10%. A big part of the reason for the stability
reputation ASUS has acquired. :)

But you could/can set RAM timings manually on the P3B-F.

How do you know it turns it off?

I installed Aida32 3.85. How exactly do I tell that PAT is on or off? It
looks like a Sisoft Sandra imitation program.

SEt the timings manually
Find the best settings for your RAM
You will find that you will be able to enable it (maybe partially) at the
right timings.
Also Mam
However it is dependant on the quality of your RAM
Ive got Kingston HyperX. Got 2/3/2/5/8 with MAM enabled and PAt on
Also overclocked the P2.4C easily to 2.9
I carried out extensive tests with my setup and have a full excel cribb
sheet of my findings/settings

True. However, you could also set it manually on the T2P4, but the board
simply ignored the settings. I'm not sure if the same was true for the
P3B-F. Anyone ever out there ever measure the speed?
