Running gigabyte easytune 4 on GA-7VAX1394 board cranked
it up from 133 to 136mhz. left voltages alone amd 2400
processor now running at 2040 instead of 2000 and system
seems to still be stable any ideas, suggestions or
comments could I boost voltages a little or is that too
dangerous not really wanting to fry this but get most I
can get out of it. Thanks for any input.

You would probably get more info from in the group for your motherboard.

This is not really an XP issue.

You could raise the voltage, but your system might overheat unless you have
water cooling along with adequate airflow in your system. If you raise the
voltage and push your system hard, your motherboard will detect that the
temperature is getting too high and power your system off before it fries
your CPU.

You would find better answers to this type of question in one of the
alt.* newsgroups that deals with overclocking such as
alt.comp.hardware.overclocking

A couple of points:

1. If your hardware components were actually capable of sustained
reliable operation at higher speeds then the manufacturers would label
and market them as such. Higher speed components sell for higher
prices.

2. Overclocking will automatically void any warranty on your
hardware.

Good luck

Overclocking is really not a good idea. Besides system failure, you can encounter errors within applications and the slight amount of speed increase is not going to be detectable to the user. Some people get away with overclocking, and usually like to brag about it, but for every success there are failures that are never talked about.

It's like using a vacuum device to "increase your manhood."
