Lady,

Most likely your Deleted Items.dbx file is corrupted. Close Outlook Express, and try renaming the file.

File location:

C:\Documents and Settings\[USER_NAME]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{ED654121-12BE-453E-832D-F679CB4A694D}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\ Deleted Items.dbx

Then reopen Outlook Express.
Click File, select Folders, and click Compact All Folders (may take some time).
Close and reopen Outlook Express.

Hello Doc......
If you are on dial-up and close & sign off before all your mail has come in
then the messages that you deleted before you signed off will reappear when
you sign back in.

Try leaving OE open till you see the message xx new messages in the bottom
right corner. xx = number of messages received.

Look in the bottom right corner before signing off if it says Receiving Mail
then you will have to stay signed in till all messages are received.
