Hi,

My sister is having some trouble with OutlookExpress. She tells me that
every time she closes the program, a window pops up that reads
"compacting". This window will not go away unless she goes into the task
manager to shut it down. This just started about a week ago and she has
been using OE for years.

When I asked why she isn't using the Outlook 2003 on her computer, she
tells me that she's not used to that and she has a very difficult time with
the learning curve.

I think she's just to lazy to learn it but whatever the case, she just
wants to fix that problem with the Compacting window that keeps popping up.

Any clues?

Hi,

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!

Gordon,

Thanks for the infomation. I realized that OE is a different product but
wasn't aware that this was the wrong place to post questions about it. I
thought that it would be ok here since I didn't see a place to post
questions about OE.

I am using officekb (web interface) to access the newsgroup.

I really appreciate you're responce since I had already posted this
question in someone else's thread but didn't get an answer in a few days
time.

Also, thanks for changing my mind about these newsgroups. I was beginning
to think that no one would be able to help me here.
