Eddie the POP3 and SMTP information you will need to get from your Internet
Service Provider.

See this link from my website:
http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/adding_an_email_account_to_outlook_Express.htm

Fig 4 in this article shows you what information you are going to need, as
does the text just beneath it. Incidentally I've just noticed a spelling
mistake on that page on the Incoming mail server information. Ignore the
spelling of 'vrigin'

I assume you meant Windows Mail rather than "outlook express"
since Vista does not have Outlook Express.

You posted with a Yahoo email address. Is that your only email
address? US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only,
no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not webmail.
There are two possible solutions:

1. How did you access Yahoo mail before? If you are happy with
webmail via your browser, you can continue to use that.

2. Pay Yahoo to get their premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:

Hi, Eddie.

Outlook Express does not run in Vista. Windows Mail is the Vista version -
which looks a lot like OE, but is quite different "under the hood" and won't
run in WinXP. Many of us prefer a third relative, Windows Live Mail, which
runs in both WinXP and Vista, and which you can download for free from
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

As John and Gary said, you need to get the POP3 (Post Office Protocol - for
receiving email), SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol - for sending email)
and NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol - for newsgroups) information from
your service provider (Yahoo?), not from Microsoft. When you have that
information, click Tools | Accounts and Add each of your Mail and News
Accounts.
