outlook xp "unable to open your default e-mail folders"

After using a trial version of office 2003, I reloaded my office XP program
on my computer and now cannot get outlook to open up. I keep getting the
"unable to open your e-mail folders. Cannot open the item. Try again,"
message. I am using the Windows Media operating system. Have I now lost my
previous e-mails?

I have now dowloaded all SPs and still get the same message.

I have the same problem. I just bought a New Sony Vaio and went with my
office XP professional and started having that problem.
