Outlook XP Send/Recieve Trouble.

I work on a network that uses Exchange server 5.0. I have
a .pst file that my mail is delivered to upon opening
outlook. Under Outlook 2000 when I opened the application
it would perform an immediate send/receive. Mail setting
on the exchange postoffice would be delivered to my .pst
file. I recently switched to windows XP and Office XP.
When I open Outlook XP, I see in the lower right hand
corner of the screen an animated icon Send/Recieve
complete, but the new messages are still sitting on the
exchange server. Outlook waits for 5 minutes (current
send/recieve setting) and then the messages arrive. The
option to send/recieve immediately on opening is checked
but apparently it does not work. I can press the
send/recieve button and it will deliver. Kind of
annoying. I would like it to send/recieve on opening and
then check 5 minute intervals. Could this be a flaw in
Outlook talking to an Exchange 5.0 server?
