Outlook XP created copies of *.pst and archive.pst

Hi all
I have two identical *.pst files (Outlook Today - [Personal Folders])
and archive.pst files (Archive Folders) that to have been created by
Outlook for some reason. Both points to the same directory (H:\). When
right clicking on one of these two archive.pst folders the option
"Close Archive Folder" exists but not for the other one. The two *.pst
folders are identical but mail goes to just the one that I have
specified the mailbox to have as default delivery folder. Now, what
should one do about this...is it safe to just remove the duplicates or
will they be recreated next time outlook is opened? What has happend
here? Greatfull for any help, tips, ideas offered...

You corrupted your Outlook profile my migrating data improperly.
You must create a new profile.

Not at all. You create a new profile. Before you do, explain why you are
using PST files with Exchange. You have left out far too much information
for anyone to provide an accurate solution.
