Outlook XP & cannot download IMAP email

I have a client who is using Outlook XP w/POP3 as her
default email configuration for their company mail. I
added an IMAP email configuration to get their email
remotely from IMAP server for their daytime job. They
can receive their POP3 email but they cannot receive any
IMAP email. The IMAP server recognizes their logon id and
password.

Any ideas on how to get their IMAP email with Outlook XP
without setting up another profile?

IMAP sets up a different information store and does not
put messages in the personal store In Box. Are you
looking in the correct information store (expand the IMAP
account in the folders pane)?

Do you have to create a new pst folder for IMAP? When we
tried to downloaded the IMAP email, It did not show any
email being downloaded.

No. Outlook creates one automatically when you add the account. For
Windows 2000, XP, and, I assume, 2003, it would be in C:\Documents and
Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and will
be named {your profile}{account name}-xxxxxxxx.pst, where "xxxxxxxx" may be
some number, like "00000000". As far as I can tell, there is little you can
do to relocate this PST or control its name. Moreover, it appears always to
be an ANSI-format PST and never a Unicode PST, to the ANSI size limits
always apply.

Thank you Brian

When I did a search for on *.pst. The only file found
was outlook.pst

Well, IMAP _does_ create its own PST and it's where I said it was in the
format I said it was. I verified it and watched the file get created and
deleted as I added and removed the IMAP account I tested.
