If it doesn't work with Outllok XP2002, will it work with Outlook 2003 if
purchased alone?

Office/Outlook 2003 and 2007 are fully supported on Windows Vista.

Brian,

Not a very good comparison...auto manufacturers are required by law to
maintain a certain level of parts availability for the cars they produce.
It's a lot easier to get an alternator for a 1967 Mustang than it is to get
Microsoft to make their own products compatible with a version that's only 5
years old.

No one is asking for a free upgrade, just that the older versions are
compatible. What's being done is that Microsoft is just finding easier ways
of forcing you to buy software you really don't need.

No, Microsoft is not forcing you to buy software you really don't need.

Stick with your older operating system and the Office version you have purchased works just fine. If you *choose* to upgrade your OS, then you will need to consider whether to continue using an out of support version of software designed for your old system and put up with errors, or upgrade to a software package specifically designed to work with your new OS.

See, your decision, no Microsoft gun pointing at your head. Check out what Apple did.

Gentlemen we must not forget that if it’s a small extremely irritating
constant little popup window that just wont go away.
And we all know that this little problem can be remedied by Microsoft
obtaining more money for you’re troubles…
Well! I do believe that we are given a very logical and simple solution…

Totally irrelevant and not a solution at all, since OpenOffice doesn't
contain an Outlook replacement, only ones for Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

And those just barely.

Bill,
I experienced the same issues with Office 2007 / Vista OS on Outlook. I did
a couple things that resolved the issue. I had more than one email account
listed in Outlook. I deleted one of them and recreated the same account and
deleted the former. Leaving only the one account.
Go to Tools in Outlook and click on Account Settings. You will see your
email accounts listed.
Hope this helps.

I own a 10 year old honda and Honda has parts so that I can fix it when
broken. I'm sure that GM has parts to fix much older cars and the after
market is there to help

So? You have to pay for those parts. They aren't free. I have no doubt
that if you paid Microsoft enough, they'd fix the problem.

Well Bill, maybe you should get your head out of Microsoft's ars. Does your
boss/Microsoft in general support your smart ars responses to customers?

An answer to your smart ars, "Let me ask you" remark:

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Chrysler improved some computer
controlled (software) features such as better programming for the
transmission amongst other things. The updated my software for free. They
didn't say I had to buy a new Jeep if I wanted the improved upgrade. They
want to make the customer happy so they will buy their next vehicle from them
even though they know it will be a number of years until you buy again.
Unlike you smart alecs that work for Microsoft and can care less about your
customers. Unbelievable. I can't believe you have not been fored for your
comment, but that just shows that your management is made up of people with
the same attitude.

Hint - MVPs are NOT Microsoft employees. Everyone here is a volunteer - you may want to remember that the next time you feel like SHOUTING at the volunteers here.

They didn't forget. It's documented on the Office web site. Anyone with
brains who is thinking about purchasing an update for an application will
research the compatibility first. Don't expect to be spoon-fed.

Why rant about it here? Microsoft people generally don't read this

I'M TAKING THIS LAPTOP WITH VISTA BACK, AND I AM DONE WITH MICROSOFT.

Good idea. Never use an application that doesn't do what you want.

The lifetime of a computer in an automobile is substantially longer that
that of a PC-based application. Try getting that Chrysler software
installed in youir 1985 Cherokee.
